Storage heating stove from Ofenkundig
Are you already heating or are you still firing?
A storage heating stove is a stove made of ceramic fireclay bricks. Each stove is individually calculated for the size of the room to be heated.
A sufficiently large combustion chamber, a regulated air supply and the burning of the wood at very high temperatures guarantee an efficiency of approx. 90 %. The heat is stored for up to 24 hours and slowly released into the room.
SAVING – ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY – EFFECTIVE – because wood is a renewable raw material. Make yourself independent!

The truth about single-room fireplaces – No ban from 2024
Hardly a day has gone by in recent months without reports of new regulatory measures, directives, ordinances and legislative changes. In the areas of heating and energy in particular, there have been a whole series of changes in recent months, which for many people have caused confusion and ambiguity rather than clarity.Media coverage adds to the chaos by mixing up different laws, such as the Building Energy Act (GEG) and the long-standing obligation to replace or retrofit from the First Ordinance on the Implementation of the Federal Immission Control Act (1st BImSchV). Such reports make for snappy headlines, but do little to clarify matters. One example of this is the widespread but false assumption that single-room fireplaces such as...
Why a storage heating stove is not a wood-burning stove
A storage heating stove cannot be compared with a wood-burning stove, as there are already relevant differences in the way heat is emitted. Whereas a wood-burning stove draws the air out of a room and heats everything around it, a storage heating stove emits gentle radiant heat over many hours without using up oxygen.
A storage heating stove does not stir up dust (good for allergy sufferers), burns a single load of wood to suit the size of the combustion chamber and then radiates heat for up to 24 hours. It is environmentally friendly and meets the requirements of the Federal Immission Control Act.
The storage heating stove, also known as a plaster stove or tiled stove, has a brick-built combustion chamber and is characterized by burning wood directly on the bottom of the firebrick without the use of a grate.
Radiant heat
A storage heating stove heats like the sun and not like a fan heater. The firebricks emit heat as radiant heat and not as convection heat.
Individual storage heating stove
A storage heating stove is designed together with you, individually and according to your wishes.
Good for allergy sufferers
A storage heating stove does not stir up dust, as there is no airflow as with a fireplace.
A storage heating stove is future-proof
Due to the high combustion temperature and the guidance of the flue gases through a chimney-lined draught system, the wood burns almost completely, resulting in very good flue gas values in accordance with environmental standards.
Best efficiency
The wood burns optimally in the combustion chamber and the flue gases are fully utilized by the draught system. Economical consumption and high efficiency are guaranteed.
One wood filling – up to 24 hours of warmth
Firing is always successful and only needs to be done once. Adding wood was yesterday – while others are still running and have to add wood every 20 minutes, you are already reading a book.

Does heating with wood have a future? Is it still worth installing a storage heating stove?
Does heating with wood have a future? Is it still worth installing a storage heating stove? Politics is a fickle thing. Until August 2022, the installation of wood-burning pellet heating systems was subsidized by the state and now there is a debate about whether to...
With a storage heating stove, you can look forward to the utility bill with peace of mind
Did you know that heating with wood is still one of the cheapest ways to heat your home? And also one of the most environmentally friendly? While oil and gas prices are constantly rising and the finite nature of this fossil fuel is a fact, wood is constantly growing....
The next winter is sure to come: Are you already heating or are you still firing up the chimney?
No stove heats as efficiently as a storage heating stove, because in a storage stove the entire amount of wood is burned cleanly, the energy is stored and converted into pleasant radiant heat. This creates an allergy-friendly indoor climate and a warmth that is...
Does your existing stove or fireplace meet the requirements of the Federal Immission Control Ordinance?
Since the end of 2012, you have been required to provide your chimney sweep with proof of the age of your fireplace, as the aim is to remove old "fine dust spewers" from the combustion cycle. Section 26 of the First Ordinance on the Implementation of the Federal...
